Zpacks Duplex Tent
The best tent I have ever owned, worth every penny. I used this tent for six backpacking trips in 2019. One in the rain, 5 dry, with temperatures range 20-75. I purchased it with the Duplex Free-standing Flex Kit that adds 300 grams but makes it self-standing. It takes a blink of an eye to set it up, and it can stay up without any stakes (I generally use 4). The tent is very stable in the wind, and took heavy rain without any problem. Four storm doors are great: you can always find one that is straight… Full review

Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL2
The bag for this tent randomly ripped, so I contacted Big Agnes to get a new bag, since the tent was under warranty. Customer service denied me a new bag because of 'damaging use', yet that was not the case, and the photo I had sent showed a small patch of dirt on the bag. Therefore, don't allow any dirt, not even a speck, to get on your Big Agnes products or else your warranty won't stand. Full review
The North Face Rock 32
LOVE THIS TENT! We use it for both car camping and backpacking. Quick and simple setup and break down, even in the dark. Adjustable fly so can be anchored down tight for the storms, no sagging. Like the details. Design is intuitive. Room with a view! Full review
REI Camp Dome 2
Cute and cosy. I should confess I started out ready to return this tent due to its short length. That was in summer. The other major problem emerged when fall hit: extreme condensation that made the inside as wet as the outside in any humidity when the temperature headed towards freezing. However, the more I set it up, the more I liked it. First of all, it's so CUTE: Then there's the ease of setup. Three poles, NO HUB. The clips twist on and twist off in one motion. Poles fit instantly and securely… Full review
Macpac Microlight
My go-to tent. UK all year. Easy to set up, easy to sleep in, easy to pack up. I'm 6'1', 14 stone, and this is my first choice tent. I do 4/5 day hikes in the UK, averaging 20+ miles (32k+) in mainly mountain and hill country. I need a tent to rely on. This is it. There are lighter tents and there are larger tents. The Microlight does all that I need: I can store all my stuff inside, cook, sit up... At a squeeze two could use it—packs outside! Mine was an auction buy...£15 including two other… Full review
Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL1
Warning: Doorway should have been designed with a ceiling overhang to prevent rain entering. Tent is ultra lightweight. Fly Creek is easy to assemble, holds up in the tundra in high winds, rain fly is highly storm resistant, materials are strong. Confined space does not allow a person over six feet to sit up. Ventilation is impossible due to small space. Entering or exiting during a rainstorm will allow rain to fill the interior floor due to lack of a high extension of the rain fly over the doorway. Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL2
I bought the two-person as it's only a few ounces more than the one-person and I needed room for my dog. My first trip I was a little nervous at the light weight, but it held up on several big rains and pretty confident now. My dog's nails did put a few tears in the floor, but fixed easy enough. I have also used on several wildland deployments and treat this lightweight tent a little more gentle. I skipped the overpriced footprint and made a Tyvex floor that can double as a small tarp when outside… Full review
Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL1
A one-person, ultralight, three-season backpacking tent, the Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL1 provides reasonable comfort and very good weather resistance for a packed weight of 2lb 1oz. I bought my Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL1 a little over a year ago, after doing a LOT of research. I’d set a goal of four pounds for my tent, sleeping pad, and sleeping bag, and the Fly Creek let me come in at about 1 ounce over. Close enough for me! I can easily shave that ounce by leaving stuff sacks at home. A “semi-freestanding”… Full review
